Imposing Their "Values" on Us Already

I'm sure this is just the beginning of such stories, but the school board in Dover, PA has OK'd the teaching of creationism in public schools.

"With a vote last month, the school board in rural south-central Pennsylvania community is believed to have become the first in the nation to mandate the teaching of 'intelligent design,' which holds that the universe is so complex that it must have been created by an unspecified higher power."

Carol Brown on of two school board members to resign in protest said, "We have a vocal group within the community who feel very strongly in an evangelical Christian way that there is no separation of church and state. Our responsibility to is to represent the viewpoints of all members of the community."

From what I can tell from the
Intelligent Design website it appears they believe that the original species where created by a higher power and then evolution took over from their.

I'm waiting now for some sort of "scientific proof" of how Jesus turned water into wine and how Moses parted the Red Sea . I mean why not find someone to say science supports things like this so one can sneak them into public school curriculums? It is amazing to me that people don't want sex education taught in public schools but seem all to eager to have have religion taught in public schools. Both seem like something parents would want control over instead of some teacher who may have differing views. Of course they are only OK with this as long as the religion being taught is Christianity. I assume the first time a Moonie teacher starts exposing kids to that religion, or a Mormon teacher reveals that they believe that Jesus visited North America, the "values voters" will have a change of heart.
