You Just Can't Be Too Conservative Part II

We have been hearing for months how John Kerry and John Edwards where "too liberal", to lead the nation. Why is it that one can be too liberal by apparently there is no way to be too conservative?

Jim Demint - Senator Elect from South Carolina
"Let's stop whining about job losses."

Sure, you have a job.

“folks teaching in school need to represent our values" if teachers are "openly gay, I do not think that they should be teaching at public schools.”

"In a debate Sunday with Democrat Inez Tenenbaum DeMint said openly gay people should not be allowed to teach in the state's public schools. DeMint defended that remark during an interview Tuesday with the Aiken Standard and said he would feel the same way about single, pregnant women who live with a boyfriend teaching if they were teaching a third grade child."

At least he's an equal opportunity hater.

"With the zeal of a true believer, the House member from Greenville has declared that America's future depends on privatizing Social Security and abolishing the federal minimum wage."

"...his unlikely notion of 'tax reform' -- scrapping the income tax and substituting a 23 percent national sales tax"

"South Carolina court records obtained by Salon show that from 1987 until as recently as 2001, DeMint has repeatedly failed to pay his taxes on time, forcing the Internal Revenue Service and the South Carolina Tax Commission to file liens against him and his company, DeMint Marketing Management. In some cases, despite numerous warnings, DeMint has delayed payment for years. If he harbors a special hostility toward the IRS, that might reflect the $1,050 lien in 1987 for overdue taxes against him and his company -- which he neglected to pay for more than three years."

This guy is now in the United States Senate and Tom Daschle is not.
